About Us

Louisa Domestic Violence Service is a small, community based service that offers advice, support and crisis accommodation to women, children and men escaping domestic and family violence (DFV). Originally we were established as a service for women and children and operated out of a six bedroom purpose built refuge. But since November 2014, we have broadened our services to encompass everyone escaping DFV, including men and couples.

Our refuge building will continue to be reserved for women with children, or single women, but we have a number of properties that we can use for transitional housing (12-18 months, for those who are no longer in crisis but need somewhere to stay until they can secure safe and affordable housing), or for men or couples, with or without children, who are escaping domestic violence.
